REUEL MATTHEW is founder and CEO of Egami Collection, a NY based couture apparel brand that is dedicated to
providing affordable work appropriate, special event and night out apparel to young working professionals.
The brand was developed by Reuel to address the need to educate young people about wearing suits and changing their image (which is the company name spelled backward), and has dressed over 200 young professionals since inception.
Egami Collection has also provided scholarships, sponsored free suits through partnerships with numerous local organizations here in New York City, hosts an annual fashion show during fashion week, and partners with other designers around New York City to put on pop-up events and showrooms to showcase new designs.
Reuel is the son of a seamstress and learned how to sew from a young age. He always had dreams of creating an apparel line, getting inspiration from apparel moguls such as Damon John and Sean “P-Diddy” Combs, but needed the financial capital to get started. Therefore, Reuel followed a career working at Ernst & Young and a number of smaller boutique consulting firms, in order to generate enough capital to start his own fashion house.
Egami was born in 2014, and continues to grow, generating six figure sales and representing customers across the U.S., including basketball players, AME bishops, and senior executives in corporate America.
